What does interior window cleaning in San Diego involve?
Interior window cleaning in San Diego means washing the glass by hand and wiping the frames and sills with microfiber. We work room by room, check each pane against the light, and treat the sill as part of the window. Interior and exterior are separate passes.

Most of the dirt people see on the inside of a window is not dust. It is a thin film from cooking, candles, hands, pets, and the ocean air that comes through an open slider.
That film is why a dry wipe never fully works.
How we work through a room
We start with the sill and frame, because dirt shaken loose from the frame lands on the glass if you clean it first. Microfiber lifts it without scratching painted or vinyl surfaces.
Then the glass is hand washed. No machine, no shortcuts.
Last, we look at every pane from an angle with the light behind it. Streaks and smears show up there, not head on. Matthew and Tanner do this check on every window ourselves before we call the room done.

Why the sill and frame matter as much as the glass
A clean pane in a dusty frame looks unfinished within a day. The frame is where the eye lands first.
In older Pacific Beach cottages, painted wood frames hold grime in the corners and the glazing lines. In newer 4S Ranch and Scripps Ranch homes with vinyl frames, the sill collects fine dust and sprinkler-season grit blown in through open windows. Same method, different amount of work.
How does interior cleaning differ from exterior?
| Pass | Method | What it removes |
|---|---|---|
| Interior | Hand washed glass, microfiber on frames and sills | Household film, fingerprints, dust on sills |
| Exterior | Deionized water and water-fed brushes | Salt film near the coast, dust and mineral spotting inland |
Exterior glass dries spot-free with deionized water, so it does not need a squeegee. Interior glass is a different job because it is cleaned inside a living space, close to furniture and finishes.
You can read more on the exterior side in our exterior window cleaning page, and the interior details are on the interior window cleaning page.
What about large picture windows?
In Rancho Santa Fe and Del Mar, large fixed picture windows are common. Interior access to those has to be scheduled with the homeowner, because the glass is often behind furniture, art, or window treatments that need to be moved first.
We would rather talk that through at the quote than find out on the day.
Should screens and tracks be part of the visit?
If the windows open, usually yes. Tracks collect the grit that later scratches the glass, and screens hold dust that settles back onto clean panes the first time the wind blows. That is why we sell track detailing and screen cleaning as their own services and recommend doing them in the same visit.
If we cleaned your windows and you want to tell other homeowners about it, a Google review that names the service and your neighborhood is the most useful kind. To ask about your home, contact us.
