Interior Window Cleaning in San Diego
We clean the interior glass by hand and detail the frames and sills with a microfiber towel.
Why the inside is done by hand
Interior glass is a different job from exterior glass, and it does not respond to the same method. There is no purified-water rinse indoors - no one wants water running down a wall and into a baseboard. Inside, the work is done by hand, pane by pane.
The dirt is different too. Exterior grime is mineral and environmental. Interior film is mostly organic and domestic: cooking residue that drifts and settles, fingerprints, nose prints at dog height, hairspray overspray in a bathroom, dust that bonds to the faint oily layer already on the glass. It needs to be dissolved and lifted, not blasted off.
Hand cleaning also means the person doing the work is close enough to see what they are doing. Interior glass gets looked at from two feet away in good light, which is a far harsher test than an exterior pane viewed from the sidewalk. A streak that would be invisible outside is obvious on the inside of a window over a kitchen sink.
Frames and sills, done with the glass
The frames and sills are detailed with a microfiber towel as part of the same pass. Microfiber matters here - it traps and holds fine dust in the weave rather than pushing it around and dropping it back onto a surface you just cleaned.
Interior sills collect a specific set of things: dust, dead insects, paint flecks from whenever the room was last done, and in a lot of San Diego homes a fine grit that blows in through open windows most of the year. On a painted wood frame, that grit is abrasive enough that wiping it around with a dry cloth is genuinely worse than leaving it.
Working carefully inside an occupied home
Working inside somebody's house is a different responsibility from working on their exterior, and we treat it that way.
Furniture near a window gets moved back and put where it was. Blinds and shutters are handled gently - older plantation shutters and cellular shades in particular do not appreciate being forced. Anything on a sill gets set aside and returned to the same spot.
One of our reviewers put the standard plainly: "honest and humble, ensuring that we found a convenient time for the service." Interior work depends entirely on being someone you are comfortable having in the house, and we are aware of that every time.
Interior and exterior together
Most customers book interior and exterior at the same time, and there is a practical reason beyond convenience.
When only one side is cleaned, the other side is what you see. A perfectly cleaned exterior pane viewed through an interior film still looks hazy, and it is genuinely hard to tell which side a mark is on until both have been done. Cleaning both sides in one visit also means that if something is on the glass, it gets found and dealt with then and there rather than being blamed on the side nobody touched.
If you would rather do exterior only, that is completely fine and common - especially for upper-floor windows in rooms nobody uses. We will tell you what we think is worth doing rather than pushing the bigger job.
Common questions
Interior Window Cleaning, answered.
Someone needs to let us in and lock up afterward, but you do not need to follow us around. We will work room by room and stay out of your way.
Yes, within reason. We will move a chair, a side table, or a plant stand and put it back where it was. For anything heavy or fragile, we will ask first.
We work around them carefully and handle them gently. We do not deep clean window coverings as a service, but they get moved and reset as needed to reach the glass.
No. Interior work does not require harsh chemicals, and we are conscious that we are cleaning inside a space where people live.
